Avis fall foul of user participation and user-generated content

posted Tuesday, 1 July 2008
I will never use Avis again" is a recurring statement
http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews8012.html

Everything was clearly explained and in an upfront manner so no misunderstandings just how l like my dealings with people More big businesses need to find ways to incorporate user participation and user-generated content into their overall marketing strategy.

Social media sites like MySpace or Facebook, and even long-standing social media tools like blogs remain a mystery to many of the large organizations. Avis found this out recently in
www.reviewcentre.com.

The comments ranged from bad..."They charged me £385 extra". "Staff were totally unreasonable". "They didnt want to know why or how" to worse
...."If anybody is reading this, my recommendation is NEVER use Avis"

More comments inside (including readers).
What are your experiences? In defence of Avis do you feel this is a fair reflection of how a company performs?
